Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Non-Profit Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit management, certification processes, and the establishment of non-profit loan funds. As the Non-Profit Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our partners through the process of setting up new non-profit loan funds or foundations. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, assisting with obtaining necessary certifications, and establishing best practices for their fund or foundation management. You will build and manage a library of funding and program resources. This position is remote and will require some travel.

Essential Duties Management

Certification and Compliance Management:
  • Guide our partners/clients through the process of obtaining and maintaining certifications required for the establishment and operation of non-profit loan funds or foundations.
  • Assist with establishing processes to ensure that all loan funds comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as any specific requirements for non-profit organizations.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting non-profit loan funds or foundations and update our organizational practices in guiding our partners/clients accordingly.
Loan Fund Setup & Development
  • Establish discovery processes with client leadership teams to determine needs in order to provide expertise, guidance and recommendations in the design and setup of new non-profit loan funds and foundations, including structuring, governance, and operational frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop loan fund strategies that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing policies, and procedures related to the establishment and management of loan funds or foundations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training
  • Provide guidance to our clients to work closely with community partners, donors, and financial institutions to ensure a collaborative approach to loan fund or foundation creation and
    management.
  • Assist with conducting training sessions and workshops for client staff, board members, and partners on strategies, compliance, certification requirements, and best practices in loan fund management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for questions related to certification, compliance, and the setup of loan funds or foundations.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all certification processes, compliance requirements, and loan fund/foundation operations in order to provide templates to clients
  • Provide guidance on submitting reports to regulatory agencies, funders, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure clients establish accurate record-keeping and data management to support audits and evaluations
Risk Management
  • Guide clients on identifying and assessing potential risks associated with the establishment and operation of non-profit loan funds and foundations.
  • Assist with developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks.
  • Ensure clients establish monitoring practices to evaluate and assess portfolio performance
Program Management
  • Assist client with establishing processes and procedures for collection of program, funding and other resource data for clients trade areas and maintain a database and program catalogue of all available programs, funding sources and other available resources. This information will be updated monthly and shared with internal development and project management teams as necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in non-profit management preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in non-profit management, with a focus on certification processes and/or loan fund development.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing non-profits and loan funds.
  • Proven experience in setting up and managing non-profit loan funds, including obtaining necessary certifications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training and educational materials for staff and partners.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for documentation, reporting, and compliance management.
